Ulsan HD FC has signed attacking midfielder Giorgi Arabidze from the Georgian national team.

On the 31st, Ulsan officially announced the addition of the 26-year old Arabidze through a press release. Arabidze made his professional debut with Georgian club Lokomotive Tbilisi in 2013 and has since played for Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine), Nacional (Portugal), Adanaspor (Turkey), Rotor Volgograd (Russia), Samtredia (Georgia), and Torpedo Kutaisi (Georgia).

He has progressed through various age levels for Georgia and has made a notable impact on the national team, scoring three goals in four appearances. Despite facing challenges in his overseas stints, Arabidze found a turning point after joining Torpedo Kutaisi in 2022. During the ongoing 2024 Georgian league season, he has been in excellent form, recording five goals and six assists in 14 matches before joining Ulsan.

Arabidze's main position is attacking midfielder, but he is also capable of playing on both wings and as a second striker. He has been assigned the number 9 jersey.

Here are Arabidze’s thoughts on joining Ulsan, as shared by the club:

"I know that several Georgian players have played and are currently playing in the K League. Bako, who played until last season, was loved by fans and showed great performance at Ulsan. These things motivate me even more. It’s important to show what I can do, but my ultimate goal is to adapt, grow, and contribute to the team’s victories with my performance." - Giorgi Arabidze, 31th July 2024, Ulsan HD Statement

Ulsan secured a foreign player slot for Arabidze by terminating the contract of Brazilian attacking midfielder Kelvin. Besides Arabidze, Ulsan has filled all five of their foreign player slots with Matheus, Yago Carriello, Darjian Bojanic, Gustav Ludwigson, and Esaka Ataru for the second half of the 2024 season.

Meanwhile, Ulsan announced that they will hold a press conference for newly appointed head coach Kim Pan-gon on August 5th at the Asan Policy Institute in Jongno-gu, Seoul. After a turbulent period following the sudden resignation of head coach Hong Myung-bo, Ulsan has now reorganized their coaching staff and player roster ahead of the second half of the season.
